Epix Analytics on the Go!

EpiX Analyticsí consultants have not only been working on a range of interesting engagements, but also frequently attend and speak at conferences:

  • Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Symposium in Houston, TX, May 19-20, 2014 - Dr. Huybert Groenendaal, managing partner, and Dr. Kurt Rinehart statistical and risk consultant, at EpiX Analytics, attended the SPE Hydrocarbon Economics and Evaluation Symposium held May 19-20, 2014, in Houston, TX. The conference clearly showed that Monte Carlo simulation is already used in many areas within the oil and gas industry, but also that there are still many opportunities for the use of solid analytics to improve decision-making.
  • Dr. Solenne Costard, Epidemiologist, at EpiX Analytics, recently submitted a paper entitled Small-scale pig farmersí behavior, silent release of African swine fever virus (ASFV) and consequences for disease spread. Simulation modeling was used to investigate the risk of virus release via the emergency sale of pigs from affected farms, a common practice in many areas where the disease occurs.
  • Palisadeís 2014 Regional Risk Conference, Washington, DC, June 26, 2014 - Dr. Francisco Zagmutt managing partner, will be delivering a presentation entitled What Matters and What Doesnít: Building Pragmatic and Robust Simulation Models, at Palisadeís 2014 Regional Risk Conference in Washington, DC, on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Dr. Zagmutt will be using real-life examples to demonstrate some of the key principles to build sound and parsimonious simulation models, and will provide a checklist to keep in mind while building models. Visit the conference website for more details on the conference contents and schedule.
  • IDF World Dairy Summit 2014, Tel Aviv, Israel, October 27-31, 2014 - Dr. Francisco Zagmutt, will be delivering a presentation entitled Confronting Zoonotic Emerging Disease: The Need for Risk Analysis and Predictive Modeling, at the 2014 World Dairy Summit in Tel Aviv Israel, on Friday, October 31, 2014. Visit the conference website for more details on the conference contents and schedule.
